The Beaver Lab is a prime example of Self-Hosting. What is Self Hosting you may be asking yourself? To put it simply... DIY Hosting. Yeah, We know thats using one buzz word to explain another. The basics are the user builds a server/machine at their house or places a server at a Co-Located Datacenter which will run 24/7 and serve applications and services for you and possibly your Family & Friends. A Prime example of a well known Self-Hosted application is Plex which is a Media Server solution that will scan, categorize and stream your entire media library inside and outside your house.
Most if not all of the applications and servers hosted in The Beaver Lab are run using Virtualization or Containerization (Via Docker). This is a great way to utilize Hardware to its fullest. All the Virtual Servers in The Beaver Lab run on Proxmox VE.
